Burstless fire extinguishers (stored pressure type) are safe. Conventional fire extinguishers (pressurized type) use a built-in pressurized gas container (carbon dioxide) to rapidly pressurize the extinguisher to discharge the extinguishing agent. If there is rust, scratches, or deformation on the main body of the extinguisher, there is a risk of bursting during operation. In contrast, the current burstless fire extinguishers (stored pressure type) are filled with clean nitrogen gas and maintain a uniform pressure at all times, preventing bursting. *All bursting incidents in the past 10 years have involved pressurized types. There have been no incidents with stored pressure types.
